Restore Chalky, Faded RV Fibreglass

Most RV sidewalls and front caps are fibreglass with a gelcoat or painted finish, and constant sun breaks that finish down. The first sign is a dull, chalky surface that leaves residue on your hand; left long enough, the colour fades and the surface starts to stain easily. The front cap, which takes the most sun and wind, usually goes first.

RV polishing removes that oxidized layer by machine. We wash and decontaminate the RV, test a small area to choose the right compound and pad, compound the oxidized surfaces, polish for gloss and clarity, and seal the finish. Painted full-body caps are polished with a lighter touch than gelcoat.

Decals and graphics are the delicate part. Older vinyl graphics can be dry and brittle, so we work carefully around them and point out any that are already cracking or peeling before we start.

We provide mobile RV polishing and oxidation removal across Toronto & the GTA, Halton, Hamilton & Niagara, Lake Simcoe, Georgian Bay, Muskoka, Kawarthas & Haliburton, North Bay & Sudbury, including Oakville, Toronto, Barrie, Collingwood, Gravenhurst and Peterborough. RV Polishing & Oxidation Removal questions

RV Polishing & Oxidation Removal FAQs

Common questions about rv polishing & oxidation removal.

How do I know if my RV is oxidized?+
Rub the sidewall or front cap with a finger or dark cloth. A chalky residue, or a dull, faded look even right after washing, means the surface is oxidized.
Will polishing damage my RV's decals?+
We work carefully around graphics and adjust our technique for them. Very old decals that are already dried out or cracked can't be restored by polishing, and we point those out before starting.
Can you polish a painted RV?+
Yes. Painted full-body and painted caps are polished with finer products and lighter cutting than gelcoat, because clear coat is thinner.
How long will the shine last?+
That depends on sun exposure, storage and protection. Sealing the polished surface with a sealant or ceramic coating, and storing the RV covered or out of direct sun, keeps it glossy much longer.
Do you polish aluminum siding?+
Our polishing service is for fibreglass and painted surfaces. Tell us what your RV is clad in when you ask for a quote.
